Nestled in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains on the edge of the dramatic Golden Gate nature reserve in the Eastern Free State, Clarens is fast becoming the ideal destination to experience peace, tranquility and breath-taking beauty. The estate is located in a picturesque valley with spectacular scenery and is just two and a half hours drive from both Johannesburg and Durban. Clarens has a rich archaelogical history with many fossils to be found among the golden-hued sandstone mountains which are peculiar to this area. Indeed, many of the buildings in this quiet village are hewn from sandstone, enhancing its quaint, charming atmosphere.

Room types include: 3 bedroom sleeps 6 – Bedrooms have single beds pushed together and pushed together and a headboard. The 3 bathrooms are all en suite with bath, shower, toilet and basin.

The estate houses are luxuriously appointed with every modem convenience, including a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, tumble drier and private braai facility. They are serviced daily for your added comfort and convenience. The houses have three bedrooms, three bathrooms and comfortably accommodate six people.

Golf Course:

The par 71 on site golf course, designed and constructed by Golf Data, is clearly the main attraction at this resort but there are other facilities to entertain and amuse all visitors. All 18 holes meander along and across the tranquil river and its splendid series of dams and cascading waterfalls and are carefully designed to challenge even the most successful golfer. The manicured Kikuyu fairways and Bent Grass greens are framed by mature Willow and magnificent Lombardi poplar trees, and great care has been taken to ensure that each round of golf you play will be more memorable than the one before.
