Project Description

Boschenmeer, originally The Paarl Golf Club, was first established in 1908 and is one of the oldest golf clubs and the only 27-hole course in the Western Cape. Here natural beauty combines with playability for a first class golfing experience. Designer David Frost has created a golf course of true championship standards, one that will both challenge the low handicap and scratch golfer, yet remains within the reach of the less experienced “weekender”. In addition, guests can enjoy a large swimming pool, two floodlit tennis courts, hikes and walks, mountain climbing, fishing. 4×4 Trails and a golf driving range.

Golf Course:

The Paarl Golf Course, first laid out on the banks of the Berg River in the 1950’s, has been redesigned by Danie Obermeyer and David Frost. Clever use has been made of the Berg River, dams and mature trees to produce a highly-acclaimed championship-standard course layout. Bunkers are cleverly positioned to add excitement and a challenge and the option to choose one of four different tee-off positions guarantees that the course is fair and playable for golfers of all standards. Well-kept grass greens stylishly end off every hole. The 27-hole layout consists of the “Berg River Nine” (1-9), the “Paarl Nine” (10-18), and the new “Boschenmeer Nine” (19-27) and lends itself to championship play with more simultaneous rounds possible.
